Sophia McClennen is the Director of The Center for Global Studies and a Professor of International Affairs and Comparative Literature at Pennsylvania State University. Her research focuses on cultural responses to complex social change, repression, and injustice. Some of her current projects focus on the efficacy of using humor in protest, the democratizing effects of political satire, and the systemic flaws to political sovereignty.
