Ivy Gilbert

I am a Researcher at the NYU Center for Mind, Ethics, and Policy. I am a moral psychologist by training, and I’m interested in how people make social and moral inferences about nonhumans — both biological and artificial — and how these inferences inform consumer ethics, behavior, and policy preferences. 

I hold a PhD in social psychology from Cornell University and an MA in linguistics from Florida Atlantic University. Prior to graduate school, I interned with Farm Sanctuary and The Humane League and worked with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
