I am interested in how emotions (including moral emotions) are shaped by cultural contexts, including the experience of being a member of a marginalized group, and how this in turn influences health and well-being. Recently I have focused on trying to better understand the nuances of experienced oppression and how that differs across members of different groups as well as within members of a group. I am also invested in exploring how DEI efforts are perceived and responded to vis-a-vis ethical duty/responsibility vs cost/benefit frames.
