Moral emotions are often involved in the process of ethical decision making. Our members study emotional processes including empathy, outrage, disgust, and hope, as well as judgments of intentionality, and how these relate to moral reasoning. Scholars researching this topic look at cultural differences in moral reasoning and development, moral engagement, and morally relevant person perception in various contexts.
In October 2024, we hosted a cross-over event on interdisciplinary moral psychology with the Moral Psychology Research Group. For more about that event, see here. Archived videos from that conference can be seen on the Events page.
